Telvas H 80/12.5 Tablet is a medicine prescribed to control high blood pressure when a single treatment does not give enough results. By bringing blood pressure down, it lowers the risk of serious complications such as heart attack and stroke. This tablet combines two active ingredients—telmisartan, which relaxes and widens blood vessels to make blood flow easier, and hydrochlorothiazide, a water-removing medicine that helps eliminate extra salt and fluid from the body.

It can be taken with or without meals, preferably at the same time each day to maintain steady control. Since it increases the urge to urinate, it is better not to take it too close to bedtime. Continue using it even if you feel well, because high blood pressure often has no symptoms but can silently damage the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels.

Some people may notice dizziness, tiredness, nausea, or irregular heartbeat during treatment. Passing urine more often is not a side effect but an intended action of the medicine. Most side effects are temporary, but if they become troublesome, informing your doctor is important so the dosage can be adjusted or another medicine considered.

This medicine should not be stopped suddenly unless advised by a doctor. People with liver problems, kidney issues, heart conditions, or diabetes should tell their doctor before starting it. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid it, as it may harm the baby. Alcohol may intensify its blood pressure–lowering effects, so it is better avoided.

If you happen to miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but if it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double up to make up for it.
