GlYcInorm-M 80 Tablet
GlYcInorm-M 80 Tablet is an anti-diabetic combination medicine used for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It contains Gliclazide and Metformin, which work together to improve insulin secretion, reduce glucose production in the liver, and enhance the body’s response to insulin. This helps keep blood sugar levels under control and lowers the risk of long-term diabetic complications.
It should be taken with food at the same time each day. Regular use is important even when blood sugar levels are stable. Stopping the medicine suddenly may lead to uncontrolled sugar levels and increase the risk of kidney issues, nerve damage, vision problems, or diabetic foot complications. Along with medication, a healthy diet, exercise, and weight management are essential for effective diabetes control.
The most common side effect is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), with symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, headache, and shaking. Keep a fast-acting sugar source like glucose or fruit juice with you. Alcohol can increase the risk of low blood sugar and should be avoided. Other side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, taste changes, headache, constipation, flatulence, or upper respiratory tract infection. Some people may experience weight gain.
Do not use this medicine if you have type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe kidney or liver disease. Inform your doctor if you have heart problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use. Regular blood sugar monitoring and periodic liver and kidney tests may be advised.
