Retorlix 20 Tablet contains torasemide 20 mg, a loop diuretic (“water pill”) medication that helps your body get rid of excess water and salt.
What it is used for
-
Reducing swelling (edema) seen in conditions such as heart failure, kidney disease, or liver disease
-
Managing high blood pressure (hypertension) by lowering fluid volume in the body
How it works
Torasemide increases the amount of urine your kidneys make. By doing so, it removes extra fluid and salt from your body. This helps lower swelling and also helps reduce blood pressure.
How to take it
-
Take the tablet once daily, or as directed by your doctor
-
You can take it with or without food
-
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not break, crush, or chew it
-
It’s best to take it in the morning or early in the day to avoid needing to urinate at night
Possible side effects
Some people may experience mild effects such as:
-
Dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when standing up suddenly
-
Dehydration or increased thirst
-
Muscle cramps or weakness
