Rozucor 5 Tablet is a cholesterol-lowering medicine that contains Rosuvastatin 5 mg. It belongs to the statin group of drugs, which are widely used to control high cholesterol and prevent heart-related diseases. The tablet works by lowering harmful cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while raising good cholesterol (HDL). By keeping cholesterol under control, it helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and narrowing of blood vessels.
Doctors usually prescribe Rozucor 5 Tablet as a starting dose for people with high cholesterol or those who need mild cholesterol management. It may also be given to patients who cannot tolerate higher doses. The medicine is most effective when combined with lifestyle changes like a low-fat diet, regular physical activity, weight control, avoiding alcohol, and quitting smoking.
Some common side effects include headache, stomach pain, constipation, nausea, muscle pain, dizziness, or weakness. Most of these effects are temporary and mild. In rare cases, it can affect the liver or muscles, so your doctor may recommend routine blood tests during treatment.
Rozucor 5 Tablet should be taken once a day in the dose prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at the same time daily. Do not stop taking it suddenly, even if you feel fine, unless advised by your doctor.
It should be used carefully in patients with kidney or liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid this medicine as it may not be safe for the baby.
If you forget a dose, take it when you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two tablets together.
