Product introduction
Acuclav IV 1.2gm Injection belongs to the penicillin group of antibiotics and is used to treat bacterial infections. It works against infections of the lungs such as pneumonia, as well as infections of the ear, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. This medicine does not treat viral problems like common cold or flu.

The injection is given only by a doctor or nurse and should not be used on your own. The dose and schedule depend on your health condition and are decided by the treating physician. It is very important to follow the exact instructions given.

Some people may feel side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or thrush. Reactions at the place of injection like swelling, redness, or pain may also occur. Usually these are temporary, but if they continue or get worse, a doctor should be consulted. Patients who have severe kidney or liver disease must inform their doctor before beginning this treatment.

If you have ever had an allergy to antibiotics, or if you have liver or kidney problems, let your doctor know in advance. Dose changes or a different treatment might be required in such cases. When taken under medical guidance, this medicine is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Uses of Acuclav Injection
Helps prevent bacterial infections linked with surgical procedures.

Benefits of Acuclav Injection
Acuclav IV 1.2gm Injection combines Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxycillin stops bacteria from multiplying, while Clavulanic Acid prevents resistance and makes the antibiotic more effective. This combination can be useful in preventing infections after surgeries involving the gastrointestinal tract, pelvic cavity, head and neck, or biliary tract. It usually improves health within a few days, but treatment must be completed as prescribed to ensure all bacteria are removed and resistance is avoided.

Possible side effects
Most effects are mild and go away as the body adjusts. Common ones include vomiting, nausea, loose stools, and thrush. If these last long or cause concern, seek medical advice.

How to use Acuclav Injection
A doctor or nurse administers the injection. It should not be self-injected.

How it works
This medicine has two parts, Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxycillin blocks the bacterial cell wall formation, which is vital for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid prevents the bacteria from breaking down Amoxycillin, helping the antibiotic stay effective.

Safety information
Alcohol use with this injection does not usually cause problems.
During pregnancy, it is regarded as safe when prescribed by a doctor.
It is also safe while breastfeeding as very little passes into breast milk.
Driving ability may be affected since it can sometimes cause dizziness, allergic reactions, or seizures.
In patients with kidney disease, dose changes may be needed and in severe cases it is not advised.
In those with liver conditions, the dose may also need adjustment and regular liver tests are recommended.

Missed dose
If a scheduled injection is missed, take it as soon as possible. If the next dose is near, skip the missed one and continue normally. Do not take two doses together.
