Acuclav DS Syrup is a combination antibiotic syrup that contains Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections such as infections of the ear, nose, throat, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, bones, and joints. Amoxicillin works by killing bacteria through inhibiting their cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid prevents certain bacteria from resisting Amoxicillin by blocking beta-lactamase enzymes. The syrup is suitable for pediatric patients, given after reconstitution with water. It is usually taken two to three times daily, with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and allergic reactions. It is important to complete the full course to avoid antibiotic resistance and to use the medication under medical supervision. Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
