CELFAST TABLET – Overview

CELFAST TABLET is a combination medication containing Aceclofenac and Paracetamol, formulated to manage pain and inflammation. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also helps relieve pain from sprains, strains, tendon injuries, bone fractures, sports-related injuries, and minor surgical procedures.

How CELFAST TABLET Works

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces pain and inflammation by blocking enzymes called cyclooxygenases (COX), which are responsible for producing pain-inducing chemicals (prostaglandins).
Paracetamol works on the brain’s pain and temperature centers to reduce the perception of pain and control fever. Together, these ingredients provide effective pain relief and reduce inflammation.

Uses

CELFAST TABLET is used to manage pain and inflammation in:

• Osteoarthritis

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Ankylosing spondylitis

• Sprains, strains, and tendon pain

• Bone fracture pain

• Minor surgical and other injuries

Dosage and Administration

• Take CELFAST TABLET exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Usually taken orally with water, preferably after meals to avoid stomach upset.

• The typical dose is one tablet 1–2 times daily, depending on your condition.

• Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Side Effects

Common side effects may include indigestion, abdominal discomfort, bloating, nausea, constipation, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, or mouth ulcers.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe stomach pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, or signs of low blood sugar.

Precautions

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Use only after consulting a doctor.

• Driving & Machinery: May cause drowsiness or dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery.

• Kidney or Liver Issues: Not recommended for severe impairment; use with caution in mild cases.

• Heart & Lung Conditions: Should not be used in severe heart failure or asthma/bronchospasm.

• Allergies: Avoid if allergic to Aceclofenac, Paracetamol, or other components.

• Children & Elderly: Suitable for children over 6 years (consult a doctor); elderly should use with caution.
  Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, bleeding disorders, or blood abnormalities.

Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor if you are taking:

• Other pain relievers (e.g., aspirin, COX-2 inhibitors)

• Blood pressure medications or diuretics

• Heart medications (e.g., digoxin)

• Lithium, methotrexate, corticosteroids

• Anticoagulants or antiplatelets (e.g., warfarin)

• Anti-diabetic agents or cholesterol-lowering drugs

• Antidepressants or immunosuppressants

Overdose
