Dapanorm GM2 Tablet 10’s is a combination medication used in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, a long-term condition in which the body becomes resistant to insulin or does not produce enough insulin, resulting in high blood sugar levels. This medicine contains three active ingredients: Dapagliflozin, Metformin, and Glimepiride. Together, they help lower blood sugar through various mechanisms—by promoting the elimination of excess glucose via urine, reducing glucose production in the liver, enhancing insulin secretion, and improving the body’s response to insulin. This triple-action approach supports better glycemic control when lifestyle changes and other medications are insufficient. It may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach upset, abdominal discomfort, allergic reactions, or low blood sugar, especially if meals are skipped. Patients are advised to take the tablet with food, preferably at the same time each day, and to swallow it whole with water. Crushing or breaking the tablet is not recommended. The dose should not be exceeded, as an overdose may lead to symptoms like low blood sugar, diarrhea, or abdominal pain. In case of overdose or persistent side effects, seek medical attention promptly. Before starting this medicine, inform your healthcare provider about any history of liver, kidney, or heart issues, as well as any other ongoing medications, including supplements or herbal products. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor, and it should not be used in children under 18. Alcohol should be avoided during treatment as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia. This medicine should be stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture, ideally between 10°C and 30°C. To enhance treatment effectiveness, patients are encouraged to follow a balanced diet, engage in regular physical activity, manage stress, maintain a healthy weight, and avoid smoking and alcohol. Dapanorm GM2 Tablet 10’s is not habit-forming and belongs to the therapeutic class of antidiabetic agents.
