ELDEX-M 500ml

Composition:
Each 5ml of ELDEX-M contains:

• Dextromethorphan HBr – 10mg (Cough suppressant that acts on the cough center in the brain)

• Guaifenesin – 100mg (Expectorant that helps loosen mucus in the airways)

• Menthol / Other flavoring agents – As per formulation

Indications / Uses:
ELDEX-M 500ml is used for the relief of symptoms associated with:

• Dry, irritating cough

• Productive cough with thick mucus

• Common cold, bronchitis, or other respiratory tract infections

Mechanism of Action:

• Dextromethorphan HBr acts on the medullary cough center in the brain to suppress the urge to cough.

• Guaifenesin works by reducing the viscosity of mucus in the airways, making it easier to expel through coughing.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: 10–20ml, 3 times a day, or as directed by the physician.

• Children: Dose varies depending on age; usually 5–10ml, 3 times a day.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Measure the dose using a proper measuring cup or spoon.

Mode of Administration:

• Oral, directly or mixed with water as advised.

Precautions:

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

• Consult a doctor before use in children under 6 years.

• Avoid use in patients with chronic cough due to smoking, asthma, or emphysema unless advised by a doctor.

• Use caution if patient has liver or kidney problems.

• Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if the medicine causes drowsiness.
