Epinorm Syrup – Gentle Relief from Nausea and Vomiting in Children
Epinorm Syrup is a pediatric medicine specially formulated to manage nausea and vomiting in children. It is commonly prescribed to control vomiting caused by conditions such as stomach infections, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. This syrup also helps relieve nausea or vomiting that occurs as a side effect of certain medications, including painkillers. Epinorm Syrup works by blocking the action of natural chemicals in the body that trigger the vomiting reflex, providing quick and lasting comfort for your child.
The syrup can be given before or after meals, depending on your doctor’s instructions. To prevent vomiting related to medical procedures, it is recommended to give the dose about 30 minutes before chemotherapy, 1 to 2 hours before radiotherapy, and 1 hour before surgery. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, you can repeat the dose once the child is calm. However, do not give a double dose if it’s nearly time for the next one.
Epinorm Syrup is generally safe and well-tolerated when taken as directed. Some children may experience mild side effects such as headache, constipation, diarrhea, or tiredness, which usually subside as the body adjusts to the medicine. If these effects persist or cause concern, consult your doctor promptly.
Before giving this syrup, inform your healthcare provider about any other medicines your child is taking, especially antibiotics, painkillers, or antidepressants. You should also mention any history of liver or kidney disorders, heart problems, gastrointestinal blockage, or allergies to medicines or foods, as this information helps determine the correct dosage and ensure safe use.
Usage Directions: Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure the prescribed dose using a clean measuring cup or spoon and give it by mouth, with or without food, preferably at a fixed time each day. Follow your doctor’s dosage instructions carefully for best results.
Storage & Safety Information: Read the label before use and store the syrup in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the prescribed dose and avoid self-medication.
