Fortius 10 Tablet

Fortius 10 Tablet is a cholesterol-lowering medicine that belongs to a group of drugs called statins. It helps reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing good cholesterol (HDL), thereby lowering the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular conditions. The medication works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) required for the body to produce cholesterol. It is usually taken once daily, with or without food, and at the same time each day for best results. It is important to continue taking it even if you feel well, as most people with high cholesterol do not experience symptoms. The treatment should be combined with lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, regular exercise, quitting smoking, reducing alcohol intake, and maintaining a healthy weight. Common side effects may include muscle pain, joint pain, weakness, abdominal discomfort, headache, dizziness, or nausea. These are generally mild and temporary. However, seek medical advice if symptoms persist or if you notice signs of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, or dark-colored urine. Fortius 10 Tablet should be used cautiously in patients with liver or kidney disease and is not recommended for individuals with severe liver impairment. It is also contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding as it may harm the baby. People with diabetes should monitor their blood sugar levels while using this medicine. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within a 12-hour window.
