Kofarest BT Syrup is a cough suppressant formulation used for symptomatic relief of dry (non-productive) cough.

Composition & Mechanism
Each 5 ml contains:

Butamirate citrate 7.5 mg

Butamirate works centrally by suppressing the cough reflex in the brain.

Indications / Uses

Relief of persistent, irritating dry cough from various causes

To reduce cough frequency when it disturbs rest or sleep

Dosage & Administration

Adults: 15 ml, up to 3 times daily

Children (4–6 yrs): 5 ml, 3 times daily

Children (6–12 yrs): 5 ml, 3 times daily

Adolescents: 15 ml, 3 times daily

Take by mouth; do not exceed recommended duration of use

Contraindications & Precautions

Do not use if allergic to butamirate or any component of the syrup

Avoid long-term or high-dose use without medical supervision

Use caution in liver or kidney impairment

Be alert for drowsiness or dizziness, especially when driving or using machines

Not recommended during first trimester of pregnancy; use with caution in later pregnancy and breastfeeding
