Laconext 50 mg Tablet is an anticonvulsant medication containing lacosamide as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to control and prevent seizures, especially focal (partial-onset) seizures in adults and children aged four years and older.
Lacosamide works by stabilizing abnormal electrical activity in the brain, reducing excessive nerve impulses that cause seizures. This helps decrease the frequency and severity of seizures, improving quality of life for individuals with epilepsy.
The tablet is usually taken orally once or twice daily, with or without food, as prescribed by a doctor. It is important to take the medication regularly and not to stop it suddenly, as missing doses or abrupt discontinuation can increase seizure risk.
Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, nausea, dry mouth, muscle spasms, blurred or double vision, and fatigue. Most side effects are mild and tend to improve over time.
Laconext 50 mg Tablet is not known to cause physical or psychological dependence but should only be used under medical supervision to ensure safe and effective seizure control.
