Lacosam 100 mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication used primarily for the treatment and control of seizures, particularly focal (partial-onset) seizures, in adults and children aged four years and older. The active ingredient is lacosamide, which works by stabilizing the electrical activity in the brain, preventing abnormal nerve signals that cause seizures.

The typical dosage starts at 50 mg twice daily, with the dose gradually increased by your doctor to achieve optimal seizure control, up to a maximum of 300 mg twice daily. It can be taken with or without food, and tablets should be swallowed whole without crushing or chewing.

Common side effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, blurred vision, and coordination difficulties. It is important not to stop the medication abruptly, as this can increase the risk of seizures.
