Lactihep Plus Oral Emulsion is a combination laxative used for the treatment of constipation. It helps soften stools, making them easier to pass, and relieves bloating and discomfort. It contains sodium picosulfate, liquid paraffin, and milk of magnesia. Sodium picosulfate stimulates bowel movement by increasing intestinal motility. Liquid paraffin acts as a lubricant, retaining water and fat in the stool to make it softer. Milk of magnesia draws water into the intestines, easing stool passage. Together, they help restore normal bowel function.
It is used to treat constipation and promote regular bowel movements. The medicine helps relieve pain and discomfort caused by hard stools and improves digestive comfort.
Take the emulsion as advised by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Shake well before use and do not exceed the recommended dose.
Common side effects include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort, which are usually mild and temporary.
Avoid alcohol while using this medicine. Consult your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is generally safe for patients with kidney or liver disease, but medical advice is recommended. Avoid driving if you feel dizzy or drowsy.
Eat a high-fibre diet, drink plenty of water, and stay physically active to support bowel health. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember, but skip it if it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not double the dose.
