Levesam 250 Eazy Glide Tablet is an anti-epileptic medication used to help control seizures in individuals diagnosed with epilepsy. It works by stabilizing abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which helps in reducing the frequency and severity of seizures. This medicine can be used on its own or in combination with other anti-seizure treatments.
Levesam acts by targeting specific proteins (SV2A) found on nerve cells in the brain. By binding to these sites, it helps suppress the unusual electrical signals that lead to seizures. This mechanism makes it effective in managing various types of epilepsy.
Take Levesam 250 Eazy Glide Tablet exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. It can be taken with or without meals. Aim to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your bloodstream. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet; swallow it whole.
This medication is helpful in controlling different types of seizures, including myoclonic seizures, partial-onset seizures, and generalized tonic-clonic seizures (commonly known as grand mal seizures). With regular use, it can reduce symptoms such as involuntary movements, confusion, or temporary loss of awareness. By stabilizing seizure activity, it can also enable individuals to resume everyday activities more confidently, including driving or swimming (once approved by a doctor).
Some individuals may experience mild to moderate side effects, particularly during the initial phase of treatment. These commonly include drowsiness or sleepiness, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, reduced appetite, mood swings or behavioral changes (such as agitation or aggression), nasal congestion, nausea or mild tremors. In rare cases, thoughts of self-harm or depression may occur. While many of these effects subside as the body adjusts to the medicine, any concerning changes in mood or behavior should be reported to a doctor immediately.
Before starting this medication, inform your doctor if you have kidney disorders, a history of depression or suicidal thoughts, or if you are planning to become pregnant or are currently breastfeeding. In some cases, regular blood tests may be advised to monitor kidney function during treatment.
Alcohol should be avoided, as it may amplify drowsiness and dizziness. Levesam 250 Eazy Glide Tablet is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used under medical supervision. However, caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, especially in the early stages of treatment, as the medicine may cause drowsiness or affect alertness. In patients with kidney impairment, dose adjustment may be required. For those with liver conditions, dose changes are usually not necessary, but severe liver disease should be discussed with a doctor.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered. If it’s almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and continue with the usual dosing routine. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.
