Metosartan 50 Tablet ER is prescribed for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). By lowering blood pressure, it helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems, and improves survival chances after a heart attack by reducing strain on the heart.
This medicine contains Telmisartan and Metoprolol Succinate, which work together to relax blood vessels and lower heart rate, allowing blood to flow more smoothly and reducing the heart’s workload.
Take this medicine with or after food at a fixed time daily as directed by your doctor. Continue taking it even if you feel well, as stopping suddenly may worsen your condition.
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, low blood pressure, and increased potassium levels. Avoid potassium-rich foods and supplements while taking this medication. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to prevent dizziness.
Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease or are taking other medicines for heart or blood pressure. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use it only under medical advice.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not double up.
