Novelon Tablet contains a combination of two active ingredients used primarily for contraception and to help regulate irregular menstrual cycles. It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary and stopping fertilization by sperm. Additionally, it may reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.

This tablet can be taken with or without food, but it is important to take it at the same time each day for best results. Typically, the treatment begins on the first day of your menstrual cycle and continues daily for one month. After completing one pack, start the next immediately. If you vomit within four hours of taking a dose, you should take another tablet. In case you miss a dose and more than 12 hours have passed, use additional protection such as condoms for the next two days to avoid pregnancy.

Common side effects include nausea, headaches, breast tenderness, and weight gain. If these symptoms become severe or bothersome, speak with your doctor. You might also notice irregular bleeding or spotting between periods; if this happens often or continues for a long time, seek medical advice. Notify your healthcare provider immediately if you experience swelling or pain in the limbs, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or vision changes, as these could indicate a blood clot.

Before starting Novelon, inform your doctor if you smoke and are over 35 years old, or if you have a history of heart attack or cancers of the uterus, cervix, or vagina. Also, discuss any other medications you are taking, as some can interfere with how this tablet works. This medication should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels may be required during treatment.
