Retoz-120 Tablet contains etoricoxib 120 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions like arthritis, gout, and dental pain.
Uses
It is commonly prescribed for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, and pain after dental procedures.
How it works
Etoricoxib works by selectively blocking the COX-2 enzyme, which is responsible for producing chemicals called prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandins, it eases pain, swelling, and stiffness.
Dosage and administration
The usual dose is 120 mg once daily, but follow your doctor’s instructions. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for best results.
Possible side effects
Some people may experience stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, headache, fatigue, swelling of legs, increased blood pressure, palpitations, mouth ulcers, or flu-like symptoms. Contact your doctor if any of these persist or worsen.
Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have allergies to NSAIDs or etoricoxib, gastrointestinal problems like ulcers or bleeding, heart conditions, high blood pressure, kidney or liver issues, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Contraindications
Do not take this medicine if you have known hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or NSAIDs, active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers, severe liver or kidney impairment, or uncontrolled heart conditions.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Storage
Keep the tablet in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and out of reach of children.
