Rifagut 550 mg Tablet (10 Tab)

Rifagut 550 Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat hepatic encephalopathy and infectious diarrhea. In hepatic encephalopathy, it helps reduce the production of harmful toxins like ammonia by killing certain gut bacteria, improving brain function, and reducing symptoms such as confusion, tremors, and disorientation. It also helps in managing infectious diarrhea by stopping the growth of bacteria that cause infection.

It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day, as prescribed. Continue taking it for the full duration recommended by your doctor, even if symptoms improve, to prevent recurrence or resistance.

Common side effects include nausea, dizziness, fatigue, rash, joint pain, muscle pain, and reddish discoloration of urine, which is harmless. Consult your doctor if these effects persist or worsen.

Use with caution in severe liver disease. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible or skip it if it’s nearly time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
