Rivaflo 10 Tablet is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to prevent and treat blood clots and reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. It helps prevent clot formation in the veins of the legs, lungs, brain, and heart by blocking a clotting factor called Factor Xa, ensuring smooth blood flow throughout the body.
It is commonly prescribed for patients with irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation) and to prevent blood clots after knee or hip replacement surgeries. The tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Continue taking it as advised by your doctor, as stopping suddenly can increase the risk of clot formation.
The most common side effect is increased bleeding, including easy bruising and nosebleeds. Caution is advised in patients with kidney disease, and it should not be used in severe liver disorders. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use. Avoid alcohol and activities requiring alertness if dizziness or fainting occurs.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible or skip it if it’s nearly time for the next one. Do not double the dose.
