Rixmin 400 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infections in the intestines that are caused by certain bacteria. It works directly in the gut and helps relieve symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating. Since it mainly acts in the intestine, it has very little effect on the rest of the body.

How it Works
Rixmin 400 Tablet contains Rifaximin, an antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria in the intestines. This helps control infection and prevents the harmful bacteria from multiplying further.

Uses

• Treatment of infectious diarrhea caused by bacteria

• Management of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D)

• Treatment of hepatic encephalopathy (reduces recurrence of symptoms by lowering toxins produced in the gut)

How to Take
Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with water and try to take it at the same time every day. It can be taken with or without food. Do not stop the treatment early, even if you feel better, as this may allow the infection to return.

Possible Side Effects

• Nausea or vomiting

• Headache

• Stomach pain or cramps

• Gas and bloating

• Feeling dizzy

Most side effects are mild and temporary, but if they persist or worsen, consult your doctor. Seek medical help immediately if you develop rashes, swelling, or breathing difficulty.

Precautions

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as usual. Do not take two doses together.
