Selgin Tablet contains Selegiline (5 mg), an anti-Parkinson’s medication. It is used to help manage symptoms of Parkinson’s disease by increasing levels of dopamine in the brain, which supports better control of movement, reducing stiffness, tremors, and slowness.

How it works:
Selegiline is a selective monoamine oxidase-B (MAO-B) inhibitor at standard doses. By blocking MAO-B, it slows the breakdown of dopamine in the brain, thereby enhancing dopaminergic activity and improving motor function.

Uses / Indications:

• As part of treatment for Parkinson’s disease

• To reduce motor fluctuations and augment the effects of levodopa therapy

• To improve movement, reduce rigidity, tremor, and slowness

Dosage & Administration:

• Take Selgin Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor

• Swallow it whole; do not chew, crush, or break

• It may be taken with or without food, at a consistent time each day

• The precise dose, frequency, and duration depend on your condition and response to treatment

Possible Side Effects:
Some common side effects include:

• Insomnia or sleep disturbances

• Dizziness

• Joint pain

• Peripheral swelling (edema)

• Indigestion, nausea

• Headache

• Mood changes (such as depression)

• Confusion, hallucinations (in some cases)

Warnings & Precautions:

• Do not stop Selgin abruptly — sudden withdrawal may lead to serious symptoms (e.g. muscle rigidity, fever, confusion)

• Be cautious with other medications — especially antidepressants, MAO inhibitors, or drugs that affect serotonin, to avoid dangerous interactions

• Use caution when driving or operating machinery, as it may cause drowsiness or dizziness

Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to catch up.
