Product Introduction
Sompraz 20 Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid production, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. It belongs to a group of medicines known as Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), which work by reducing acid production in the stomach, thereby providing relief from symptoms like heartburn, acidity, and indigestion, and promoting healing of ulcers.
Additionally, Sompraz 20 Tablet is also used to prevent stomach ulcers caused by certain painkillers or anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs). It should be taken on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning or at least 1 hour before a meal, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking the medicine even if symptoms improve to ensure complete healing.

Benefits of Sompraz 20 Tablet
1. In Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (Acid Reflux)
Sompraz 20 Tablet reduces stomach acid and relieves symptoms such as heartburn, chest discomfort, and regurgitation. It promotes healing of the stomach and esophageal lining damaged by acid reflux.
2. In Treatment of Peptic Ulcer Disease
By lowering gastric acid production, Sompraz 20 Tablet allows ulcers in the stomach and duodenum to heal and prevents them from recurring.
3. In Treatment of Zollinger–Ellison Syndrome
This rare condition causes excessive acid secretion, leading to multiple ulcers. Sompraz 20 Tablet effectively controls acid production, alleviating pain, heartburn, and diarrhea, and preventing complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding.
4. Prevention of Drug-Induced Ulcers
It helps protect the stomach lining in patients who need long-term NSAID therapy.
How Sompraz 20 Tablet Works
Sompraz 20 Tablet contains Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by blocking the action of the proton pumps (enzymes in the stomach wall that produce acid). This decreases the amount of acid made in the stomach, providing relief from symptoms and allowing the affected tissues to heal naturally.
