Product Introduction
Telkum CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet contains two medicines, Telmisartan and Chlorthalidone, which help control high blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack or stroke in the future. The tablet may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day as prescribed by your doctor, and continue using it until advised otherwise. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic (water pill) and may increase urination, so avoid taking it within four hours of bedtime. Regular use ensures maximum benefit, even if you feel well.
Common side effects include dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, headache, and altered blood lipids. Frequent urination is not a side effect but the intended effect of chlorthalidone to help control blood pressure. Other side effects are rare. Read the leaflet carefully and inform your doctor if side effects persist or bother you; dose adjustment or alternative treatment may be possible.
Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have kidney or liver disease, heart trouble, or diabetes. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy. Alcohol may further lower blood pressure and increase side effects.
