Telvas-BS 2.5 mg Tablet 10’s is prescribed for the management of high blood pressure, a condition where blood pushes too strongly against the artery walls for a long time. If not controlled, it can give rise to heart disease, stroke, irregular heartbeat, or other complications.

This medicine combines two active components, bisoprolol and telmisartan. Bisoprolol belongs to the group of beta blockers and works mainly on the heart by reducing heart rate and easing the pressure on the heart muscle. Telmisartan falls under the class of angiotensin receptor blockers, which act on blood vessels by preventing certain natural substances from tightening them. Together, these two actions allow smoother blood circulation and improved pumping efficiency of the heart.

Some people may experience mild effects such as headache, tiredness, back discomfort, loose motions, a blocked sensation in the nose, nausea, flushed feeling, swelling of the ankles or a temporary drop in blood pressure. These usually improve with time as the body adjusts. The medicine should only be taken in the dose suggested by your doctor, and prolonged use beyond prescription can sometimes lower blood pressure too much.

Individuals who are allergic to any component of the medicine should avoid its use.
