Product overview
Ulpan Tablet is prescribed to lower the production of stomach acid. It is commonly used in conditions such as acidity, acid reflux, peptic ulcers, heartburn, and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. By reducing excess acid, it not only eases discomfort but also supports healing of the stomach and intestinal lining.
This tablet may also be advised to prevent ulcers or acidity that sometimes develop from long-term use of pain-relief medicines. It belongs to a category of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). The best time to take it is in the morning, at least an hour before food. Your dosage will be based on your health condition and response to the treatment. Even if your symptoms improve early, you should continue the medicine for the duration recommended by your doctor. Eating lighter meals, avoiding tea, coffee, fatty or spicy foods, and limiting caffeine can make the treatment more effective.
Possible side effects
Some people may experience nausea, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, or vomiting while using this medicine. These usually settle as your body adjusts. Long-term use, especially beyond a year, may increase the risk of bone fractures. To lower this risk, your doctor may recommend supplements like calcium or vitamin D. If any side effect troubles you or continues, medical advice should be sought.
Precautions before use
Inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, osteoporosis or risk of weak bones, if you are taking medicines for HIV, or if you have had an allergic reaction to similar medicines before. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before starting this treatment.
Uses of Ulpan Tablet
– Relief from acidity
– Management of heartburn
– Control of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
– Treatment of peptic ulcers
– Zollinger–Ellison syndrome
Benefits
Heartburn and reflux are caused when stomach contents move upward due to a relaxed valve between the stomach and food pipe. Ulpan Tablet reduces stomach acid production, easing burning, pain, and discomfort. Combining it with small frequent meals, avoiding trigger foods, and maintaining a healthy weight can improve results.
How to take
Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not chew or crush it. Take it on an empty stomach, ideally before breakfast, or as directed by your doctor.
How it works
Ulpan Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors. It blocks acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining, leading to a reduction in acid levels and relief from symptoms.
