Product Overview

AntiD 150mcg/ml Injection is used to prevent certain infections by stopping the formation of antibodies in specific situations. It is particularly helpful when a person with Rh-negative blood receives blood from an Rh-positive donor, or when a pregnant woman with Rh-negative blood carries an Rh-positive baby.

This injection is primarily given to prevent complications related to Rh incompatibility in pregnancy. It is also used when Rh-negative individuals receive blood transfusions containing Rh-positive red blood cells. Additionally, it may be prescribed in cases of immune thrombocytopenic purpura, a condition where platelet levels drop, causing easy bruising.

The injection must be administered by a healthcare provider and should not be self-injected. Typically, it is given as an intramuscular injection in the upper arm. Pregnant women with Rh-negative blood are usually offered this injection at around 28 weeks of gestation and within 72 hours after delivery if the baby is Rh-positive.

This injection is generally well tolerated and not associated with common side effects. However, if you experience any unusual reactions after receiving the injection, inform your doctor, who may suggest ways to alleviate or manage these symptoms.

Before receiving this injection, make sure to discuss any bleeding disorders with your doctor. Also, inform them if you have recently had or plan to have vaccinations.

Preventing infections due to Rh incompatibility

Benefits

AntiD Injection helps in preventing the formation of antibodies in Rh-negative individuals exposed to Rh-positive blood, either during pregnancy or transfusion. In pregnant women, it helps protect the fetus by preventing harmful immune responses that may occur if the mother’s and baby’s blood types differ. The injection is administered under medical supervision and helps ensure a safer pregnancy outcome.

Side Effects

How to Use

This injection is to be given by a healthcare professional only. It should never be self-administered.

How It Works

Anti-Rh D immunoglobulin, the active ingredient, works by neutralizing or removing Rh-positive fetal blood cells that may enter the mother’s bloodstream. This helps prevent immune reactions during childbirth, abortion, or any other medical event that might cause fetal blood cells to mix with maternal blood.
