Clavam 1g Tablet is a prescription antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including those affecting the lungs, ears, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It does not work for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.
This medicine should ideally be taken with food to minimize the risk of stomach upset. It’s important to take it at evenly spaced intervals and complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early. Stopping treatment too soon may allow the infection to return or worsen, as some bacteria could survive.
Clavam 1g contains two active ingredients: amoxicillin, which kills bacteria by preventing the formation of their protective cell walls, and clavulanic acid, which helps overcome bacterial resistance by inhibiting enzymes that normally break down antibiotics.
Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, or fungal infections like oral thrush. These effects are usually mild and temporary. If side effects persist or become troublesome, consult a doctor.
Before starting Clavam 1g, inform your healthcare provider if you have a history of allergy to antibiotics or if you suffer from kidney or liver disorders. Let your doctor know about any other medications you are taking, as interactions may occur. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medicine only under medical advice.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.
Use this medicine strictly as directed by your doctor for best results and to prevent resistance.
