Along with medication, lifestyle adjustments such as reducing alcohol intake, avoiding certain meats, and staying well-hydrated can support your recovery.

Some common side effects include changes in liver function, nausea, joint discomfort, and skin rashes. Occasionally, when beginning treatment, you might notice a temporary worsening of gout symptoms, such as sudden joint pain, redness, and warmth. However, do not stop the medication.
