Flagyl Dental Gel

Flagyl Dental Gel is a combination medication formulated for treating mouth ulcers. It promotes healing by creating a protective layer over the affected area and also helps relieve pain by blocking pain signals from reaching the brain. This gel should be used exactly as directed by your doctor. Avoid applying more than the recommended amount or using it more frequently, as doing so won’t speed up recovery and may increase the risk of side effects.

This medicine is especially helpful in relieving discomfort caused by painful sores in the mouth, such as those found on the lips, tongue, gums, and inner cheeks. By numbing the area and targeting bacteria, it supports faster healing and makes eating, drinking, and talking more comfortable. The gel contains Lidocaine, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, and Metronidazole. Lidocaine numbs the area to reduce pain, Chlorhexidine cleans and disinfects the ulcer, and Metronidazole kills harmful bacteria by damaging their DNA.

Before applying the gel, ensure the affected area is clean and dry. Apply a thin layer directly onto the ulcer using clean fingers or a cotton swab. Avoid eating or drinking for a while after application to let the medicine work effectively. Some people may experience mild side effects like a burning or tingling sensation, dryness, metallic taste, nausea, or temporary staining of teeth. These usually go away on their own, but you should consult your doctor if they persist or become bothersome.

Let your doctor know if you are using any other oral medications, or if you have any allergies, kidney or liver issues, or neurological conditions. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, use this medicine only if recommended by your healthcare provider. In case you forget to apply a dose, use it when you remember unless it’s almost time for your next scheduled application—do not apply a double dose.
