Pantotab L 75mg/40mg Capsule is prescribed for managing gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly known as acid reflux. It helps alleviate discomfort caused by excess stomach acid, including heartburn, irritation, and stomach pain. In addition to reducing acid production, it assists in easing the passage of gas to improve overall stomach comfort.

This medication can be taken with or without food, following the dosage and schedule recommended by your doctor. The prescribed dose will depend on your specific condition and response to treatment. It is important to continue using Pantotab L as advised; stopping prematurely may lead to a return of symptoms or worsening of the condition. Inform your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, as interactions may occur.

Some patients may experience side effects such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, flatulence, fever, or rash. These reactions are usually temporary and resolve over time, but you should contact your doctor if any symptoms are persistent or concerning. Dizziness may also occur, so avoid driving or operating machinery until you understand how the medicine affects you. Alcohol should be avoided as it may worsen dizziness. Following lifestyle adjustments, such as consuming cold milk and reducing intake of hot beverages, spicy foods, or chocolate, can enhance treatment outcomes.

Pantotab L is primarily used for treating gastroesophageal reflux disease, a long-term condition where stomach contents flow back into the esophagus, causing frequent heartburn. The capsule works through two active components: Levosulpiride, which promotes the movement of the stomach and intestines to prevent acid reflux, and Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that lowers stomach acid production and relieves acid-related discomfort.

Lifestyle measures such as avoiding foods that trigger heartburn, eating smaller meals more frequently, maintaining a healthy weight, relaxing, and avoiding eating 3–4 hours before bedtime can further improve symptoms.

Common side effects include stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, flatulence, and joint pain. Most side effects subside as your body adjusts. The medicine should be taken consistently at a fixed time, with or without food.

Pantotab L may interact with alcohol, causing excessive drowsiness, and is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically prescribed by a doctor in exceptional situations. Caution is advised in patients with severe kidney or liver conditions, and dose adjustments may be necessary under medical supervision.

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible unless it is nearly time for the next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Doubling doses should be avoided.
